If you live on a property that has a yard – no matter the size – consider yourself lucky. Even though a yard does require some maintenance, the benefits of having a piece of nature to enjoy whenever you wish is so worth it.

Thankfully there are many things you can do to make your yard as low maintenance as possible. 

And the great thing about low maintenance landscaping is that it’s usually very eco-friendly because it works with nature instead of against it.

Over at our house, we are more than lucky to have 40 acres of treed land and rolling hills surrounding us. But I would say that 95% of it has been left completely untouched. And for the small part of our land we use as our “yard” we’ve combined many of the techniques outlined below.
